What’s the best time to have a beach session?
For outside photos: I think the better way to answer this is, when is the worst time.
The worst time is when the sun is at its peak. This causes harsh shadows on the face & washes out the background. We can however do photos under the pier to avoid the shadows!
SCHEDULING!
I do scheduling very different from most photographers.
For vacationers, I get the dates you are here, once we know more about the weather & what mother nature will do, I will schedule us. This is typically the day before or of arrival!
In the form you will complete, I will ask if you have any firm plans or a preferred day. But it's all weather pending.
Unless specified, I pick locations that have both sand dunes with sea oats & the beach right there with unobstructed view of sunset/sunrise.
Sunrise OR Sunset
Personally, Sunrise.
Most of my clients are on vacation. You only get so many days here. Why not wake up early one day & get the photos done.
The benefits; cooler in the morning, heat rain is more likely to develop in the evening, less people in the back of your photos, better for littles.
Your family will be cranky for sunrise or they will be cranky after a long beach day & taking photos in the evening before they get dinner.
In my experience, toddlers are miserable after a long day in the sun. Another reason I suggest sunrise.
How should we dress for our family session?
Outfit suggestions: Try to pick a color scheme while mixing & matching. Avoid too much pattern on a single outfit as it does make folks look bigger than they are on camera & I suggest not too many people in a pattern for family shoots. Ex: no more than 1 of 4 ppl. I suggest avoiding matchy matchy. Please reach out if you have questions on this.
What's it like to do a session with you?
I am told that it is a whole experience.
I am super easy going and bubbly. We do some candid games where I provide guided movement to capture some fun memories & emotion all while having a great time.
I’m all about playfulness—letting kids be kids while we capture the fun. We’ll start with a few quick posed shots while we have their attention, focus on photos of the kiddos, and then let them play at the end. Going with the flow usually means better photos, fewer tears, and more fun. I’ll guide the session as needed, and kids often listen better to a friendly stranger—so sit back, relax, and let’s have some fun on the beach 🌊📸
Where all do you service for general sessions?
Generally Pensacola, Navarre, and Fort Walton Beach (okaloosa Island).
I am willing to travel from Gulf Shores over to Panama City.

I AM ALL ABOUT TRAVELING TOO SO IF YOU HAVE A WEDDING OR ENGAGEMENT HAPPENING IN ANOTHER STATE/ COUNTRY LET ME KNOW & WE CAN WORK SOMETHING OUT & I MAY BE WILLING TO SHOOT YOUR WEDDING FOR FREE DEPENDING ON THE DESTINATION.
How many pictures will we receive?
This will depend on the package you go with.

I offer multi & extended family pricing as well as event pricing.
Hair
Lets remember that we are outdoors & this is the beach. There is nothing to block the wind. It is more often than not, windy!
Keep this in mind as you decide how you want to wear your hair.
I am all about embracing the wind & I personally like the look of wind blown hair. After all, we are at the beach!
I dont typically edit out hair for this reason.
Getting to your session
Please remember that we are in a beach/vacation area and during sunset sessions especially that folks will be heading to dinner. Be sure to leave a little early to avoid being late for your session. We are working against either the sun going away, or for sunrise, it going to high in the sky & getting bright.
I am typically booked out solid rescheduling may have its challenges.
Sunrise: People are heading to work.
If you are staying on the beach and would like photos to be done at your location, please reach out well in advance!
Do I get to pick my images?
YES! You'll receive an email with your sneak peeks. These will have a very light watermark on them. You'll make a favorites album & your editing time will begin once you have selected your images.
Receiving my gallery
These will also be emailed to you. Follow prompts to download & be sure to download in high resolution to remove the watermark.
